Experience ancient wonders, futuristic skyscrapers, historic cities and buzzing city streets during this diverse and exciting China discovery.
Fly to Singapore for an overnight stay to catch a glimpse of this spectacular city before embarking Cunard’s beautiful Queen Elizabeth for your cruise to China. Savour 12 days of quintessential and luxurious cruising traditions as you travel first to Chan May, from where you could visit historic Hue or Danang, followed by the stunning Halong Bay from where you could join an excursion to explore the emerald waters, studded with jungle-topped limestone arches. Hong Kong’s neon streets await before you cruise to Shanghai for an overnight stay at the close of your cruise.
Upon disembarking you’ll fly to Xian, where you’ll discover the incredible Terracotta Army, one of the most famous archaeological finds in the world. Holding silent guard over the tomb of Qin Shi Huangdi, the estimated 8,000 warriors are truly astounding in their detail and intricacy and offer a fascinating glimpse into ancient China. While in Xian you’ll also explore the Muslim Quarter and Great Mosque and see the ways in which Central Asia has influenced the development of Mainland China. From Xian you’ll travel to China’s magnificent capital, Beijing.
China’s greatest landmark weaves majestically between the East and West of China, through dry and dusty deserts and lush mountains, carrying with it a tragic, yet triumphant history that spans more than 2000 years. Experience The Great Wall of China in all of its glory during your tour, in which you can climb watchtowers to experience the incredible views before viewing the wall from an entirely differ view point during a cable car ride to the top. Your final China experience takes place at the Temple of Heaven, a tranquil oasis of peace and harmony; and the Forbidden City, China’s former imperial palace and the largest collection of ancient buildings in the country.
